Introduction to Qiongtai Teachers College The predecessor of Qiongtai Teachers College was Qiongtai Academy, which was founded in 1705. Qiongtai is another name of Qiongzhou, and it is also another name of Qiu Zhuo, a famous Neo-Confucianist and scholar of Wenyuange in Ming Dynasty. Named after Qiongtai, one is ambition, and the other is inheriting predecessors, in order to inspire students. 1902, the academy was transformed into a new school, renamed Qiongzhou government middle school with a normal class, and later renamed Guangdong Provincial Sixth Normal School. After the founding of New China, it was renamed as "Guangdong Qiongtai Normal School", "Hainan Normal School" and "Hainan Qiongtai Normal School". The school has a long history, from academy to school to normal school to higher vocational colleges and undergraduate colleges. More than half of the members of the first local committee established by the Communist Party of China (CPC) in Hainan were Qiongtai teachers and students. At the beginning of Qiongya Revolution, Wang Wenming, Yang Shanji and Feng Ping were the main PLA generals. Zhou Shidi, the only woman in Hainan who participated in the Long March of the Red Army, Xie Fei, former vice president of the Chinese People's Public Security University, and Fan Huiguo, a famous mathematician and educator in China, all worked in Qiongtai. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Qiongtai became the main base for training primary school and preschool teachers in Hainan, sending nearly 60,000 professionals to the society, most of whom grew up to be the backbone of the front line of basic education, and nearly 100 people grew up to be well-known experts, scholars, professors and special teachers. The school has two campuses, Fucheng and Guilin, with a campus area of 926 mu and a construction area of 300,000 square meters.
