The teacher came back to find me, and just came back from teaching in Tibet for half a year, so it's been a long time. She finally said that you didn't know what faith was until you got to Tibet.
English teachers are sunny people with educational feelings, so I always think that those teachers who can go to Tibet must have educational feelings.
On July 2, 20 18, I came to Yushu Prefecture, Qinghai Province with the delegation. Before I went, many people refused to participate in the research work because they heard the so-called altitude sickness and the climate was uncomfortable. Even when they got off the plane, they were sent to the high-pressure cabin for rescue. But I took the initiative to sign up. Since the teachers there can preach at an altitude of 4000 meters, why can't I go there to see the teachers and students there?
In the morning, we visited Yushu State No.2 Senior Middle School for Nationalities. The school has 162 teachers, all of whom have bachelor degree or above, including 5 graduate students. Since its establishment in 2065,438+02, the school has lost more than 0/00 teachers/kloc in six years (calculated by leaving school for more than one year).
After consultation with the school, the director in charge of education organized nearly 30 teachers. We had a short symposium. I looked at the teachers present, and they gave me the impression that they were vicissitudes of life and dressed simply, which seemed different from the teaching teachers I imagined.
But I told all the teachers with passion that you can teach here, endure it and pay a lot of hard work. You're great. Tell us if you have any difficulties or needs, and we will try our best to help you solve them, whether at work or in life. But the teachers looked at each other one by one and said nothing.
From their eyes, I can't see the feelings of education, and I can't see the passion and self-confidence standing on the three-foot platform.
I guess they are all very old, but after chatting, I found that most of them came from different places in Qinghai Province after 90 and graduated from Qinghai Normal University. I have been teaching at school for two or three years.
I asked one of the teachers why he came to Yushu to teach. The teacher looked at me and the teachers around me: because after graduation, I came here, so I teach here!
I asked other teachers, and everyone's answer was almost the same: I came here because I got here in the exam.
But you didn't come to Yushu to teach. Do you all have educational feelings?
Suddenly, I felt that my previous thoughts were ridiculous, and my reverence for Yushu people's teachers disappeared instantly. But ask yourself, who told you that Yushu teaching is all about education?
Isn't that what they say on TV? Isn't that what the news reports? Isn't the college English teacher a sentimental educator?
It is more than 4000 meters above sea level here, and it is cold and lack of oxygen in winter, which is unbearable for ordinary people. Once, a vice-principal of teaching came to Yushu the next day, feeling unwell and fainted, and was sent to the foot of the mountain to recuperate. Although the salary of teachers here is more than that of Xining, the provincial capital 1000 yuan, and the salary of teachers ranges from 5,000 yuan to 6,000 yuan, due to the high terrain of Yushu, it is difficult to transport materials, and the price is high. Teachers live in dormitories provided by the school, and only get 80 yuan rent every month, eat the school staff canteen, and spend only 10 yuan every day.
Although the salary is good, the price is high, and the monthly salary is higher than that of the provincial capital 1000 yuan, but the altitude is 2000 meters higher than that of Xining.
The leaders of the school told me that it is not that everyone has no educational feelings. Many teachers have come here to teach, but after 10 months, your body can't hold on, no matter how firm you are.
Therefore, the word "emotion" is vulnerable when the body endures cold and lack of oxygen. Therefore, these post-90 s teachers with vicissitudes of life and simple clothes are assigned here to teach and educate people. Being able to persist year after year and day after day is the greatest educational feeling.
On the way to drive me back to the hotel, the dean of the school said: Although these teachers are not the best, some of them can't even make a very interesting PPT, and they can't even use many functions of office software table making. Some products of information teaching are not very familiar. But it's excellent that they can keep teaching here for a year or two. Every school in Yushu is short of teachers. Many teachers have to take care of students in grade one and grade two. On average, one teacher has three classes, with at most seven or eight classes and more than 300 students. He has to prepare lessons, give lectures and approve more than 300 assignments. How long does it take him to approve? Their work is saturated, and they have worked hard.
I nodded and thought deeply. My greatest educational feeling is to stick to my post, teach and educate people, and never give up.
Director ren touched his chest: this year's physical examination, the doctor told me that the right atrium was too large, which was caused by the plateau all the year round. I teach in Yushu 1 1 year. Since I graduated from college, my children have been in primary school and my wife has been teaching in Yushu. We have lived and worked here for 1 1 year.
I asked Director Ren: What makes you stay here 1 1 year?
It's the headmaster. He is very kind to me. I want to give up and leave here several times in the middle. It was the headmaster who kept me. Many teachers in our school choose to stay here because the principal is very nice.
Then what kind of principal this should be, what kind of educational feelings it should have, and more attention should be paid to it. Please read the next issue of the article "Yushu needs such a principal after the disaster", which tells about an educator who has been teaching in Yushu for 36 years and interviewed President Wende of the Second Ethnic High School in Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture.
