Nanjing Special Education Teachers College, referred to as Nantes, is located in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. It is the only independent provincial-level undergraduate college in China, which mainly trains special education teachers and professionals for the disabled. The school is in charge of Jiangsu Province. The school is a national outstanding special education teacher training reform project unit, and the first batch of China Disabled Persons' Federation pilot schools for higher integrated education for disabled students.
The school's predecessor was Nanjing Special Education Normal School founded by 1982. 1997 The school is under the management of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government. In 2002, it was upgraded to a junior college and renamed as "Nanjing Vocational and Technical College of Special Education". In 2009, it became a joint unit of China Disabled Persons' Federation and Jiangsu Provincial People's Government. In 20 13, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school established "Nanjing Special Education Teachers College". In 20 15, it was officially approved to be upgraded to an ordinary undergraduate college.
