The predecessor of Changsha No.1 Middle School was 1943, a "private middle school" founded by the Liu clan of Changqiao with ancestral property and clan donations.

1979 The school was handed over to Changsha County for management and was named Changsha County No.1 Middle School. 1995 school was promoted to a key middle school in Hunan province, and was listed as a model ordinary high school in Hunan province in 2005. The school is located in Xingsha, Changsha County, Hunan Province.
