Hainan Normal University, located in Haikou City, Hainan Province, is a key university in Hainan Province jointly established by the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC) and the People's Government of Hainan Province.

Selected into the national primary and secondary school teacher training plan, excellent teacher training plan, basic capacity building project of central and western universities, national demonstration universities for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform, and national college students' innovation and entrepreneurship training plan.

The history of running a school can be traced back to Qiongtai Academy, which was founded in the forty-fourth year of Kangxi in Qing Dynasty (1705). 1In the autumn of 949, the National Hainan Teachers College was founded in Qiongtai College, and cooperated with Qiongya Teachers College to share teaching resources. 1952 was renamed Hainan Normal University.

1983 Hainan University was established on the basis of Hainan Normal University and Hainan Medical College, and the school was changed to the normal department of Hainan University to recruit undergraduate students again. 1986, Hainan Normal University resumed; 1999 Hainan Institute of Education merged to form a new Hainan Normal University.

In 2003, he was granted the right to confer a master's degree; In 2007, it was renamed Hainan Normal University; 20 13 obtained the right to confer doctoral degrees; 20 15 became a university jointly established by Hainan Provincial People's Government and Ministry of Education.

As of April 2022, the school has two campuses, Longkunnan and Guilinyang, covering an area of about 3 100 mu. There are 24 colleges and 67 undergraduate majors.
