Jianguo Road Primary School was founded in 1924, formerly known as Aipu Primary School (full name "Xinpu Aipu Private Compulsory Education School"). 1930, Aipu School added junior middle school classes, and Aipu Middle School was born (the predecessor of Jiangsu Xinhai High School). 1954 was renamed "Jianguo Road Primary School". 196 1 year was identified as the city's key primary school. It is a prestigious school with a history of 90 years (as of 20 14).

A large number of scholars and experts who have studied in our school have traveled all over Europe, America and both sides of the Taiwan Strait. For example, Dr Cui Xuezhai is a professor in Tsinghua University, and Liu Baosheng (also known as Han Yan) is a famous printmaker in China. Zhou Yuhong, the former mayor of Xinhailian, and Hu, the former chairman, visited Jianguo Road Primary School from time to time for guidance.

They all studied in our school when they were teenagers, and they are all outstanding graduates of our school. Martyrs Gu Dongshi, Lu and Li Diren are all excellent teachers in our school, and they gave their precious lives for the liberation of Lianyungang. A good school spirit has been formed for decades, and the high-quality education that has been in the leading position for decades has made Jianguo Road Primary School famous both inside and outside the province.
