The first woman to lead a British 100 listed company in British history. In 2002, Fortune magazine selected the 50 most influential business women in the world. She was named the most influential businesswoman in Britain by Management Today magazine. In 2003, Buckingham Palace was specially decorated as a knight.
Scardino was CEO of The Economist before he became CEO of Pearson Group from 65438 to 0997.
Under her leadership, Pearson Group has developed from a diversified group operating in many different industries to the largest multinational education and information media giant in the world. Her outstanding ability in group strategic management has won her the reputation of the best female manager and is one of the most influential managers in the publishing industry in Europe and America.
She was 1985 North American President of Economist Group and 1993 CEO of Economist Group. Before 1985, she worked in Savannah Law Firm, Georgia, and founded Georgia Gazette with her husband, and won the Pulitzer Prize.
Ms Marjory Scattino is also a non-executive director of Nokia, and has served on some charities or advisory committees, including Carter Center and Victoria and Albert Museum.
Marjory Scardino married journalist Albert Scardino and had three children.
