Cambridge International Children's English: Introduction to the Teacher Training of Cambridge Children's English Test
English education is an important part of China government's economic development strategy. The University of Cambridge Examinations Committee (UCLES) cooperated with the Examination Center of the Ministry of Education to build the China English Examination Development Project. Cambridge Children's English Test is considered as an integral part of comprehensive English education and examination.

Teacher training is a basic feature of children's English learning system in Cambridge. This project has attracted many senior teachers from universities and prestigious schools.

The teacher training program has absorbed the experience of Cambridge University Examinations Committee in English teacher training examination. Its goal is to cultivate Cambridge children's English system into a comprehensive framework system.

Our main consideration is to give applied teachers the opportunity to enter new fields by completing certain courses. Successful applicants will be qualified to teach children English in Cambridge.

This course is specially designed for those who have some or no experience in teaching children's English, and is also suitable for those who have experience in teaching adult English.

Cambridge standards for children's English teachers

Teachers engaged in the teaching of children's English learning system in Cambridge should have a college degree or above in English major and participate in relevant pre-job training organized by the China-UK Center. The training content includes:

(1) Analysis of children's psychological characteristics;

(2) the explanation of communicative teaching method;

(3) teaching material analysis;

(4) Observation and comments on the demonstration class.

After the training, professional teachers will make an assessment, which includes two parts:

Written test: it is divided into two parts: Chinese and English. The Chinese part mainly includes the examination of teaching theory level and case analysis combined with teaching materials. The English part is to examine the teacher's English level.

Oral examination: the oral examination part is investigated from the following two aspects:

(1) Whether the teacher's pronunciation is standard;

(2) Teachers' oral expression ability.

We will issue the teacher certificate of Cambridge Children's English Learning System to the teachers who pass the exam.

Cambridge Children's English Teacher Training Program

Teachers who are going to participate in the teaching of children's English learning system in Cambridge, please register with the local organizers and use the training materials provided by our center to study.

In order to strengthen the management of teacher training, the China-UK Center commissioned Higher Education Press to produce and publish a series of VCD discs specially used for teacher training. It consists of 7 VCD discs, data compilation, teacher post examination registration form, etc. , and distributed through the organizer.

After the teacher completes the written examination, the provincial examiner will conduct an interview, and the post certificate can only be obtained after passing the examination. Quickly and timely meet the needs and quality of teachers' on-the-job teaching.
