Recently, Minister of Education Chen Baosheng said
China education "hard middle school,
(including) a happy university. "
We should reverse the phenomenon of "winning".
(auxiliary) effectively reduce the burden on primary and secondary school students.
(Help) Reasonably increase the burden on college students.
Enhance the academic challenges of college students,
(? I-? No.54482253)
Reasonably increase the difficulty of undergraduate courses,
(good) expand the depth of the course,
(Card) Expand the selectivity of the course.
Stimulate students' learning motivation.
Control and professional interest, and truly turn "water class" into a deep, difficult and challenging "golden class".
I believe that in the memory of most people who have experienced it, after entering the university after a hard high school career, most of them will breathe a sigh of relief and breed a strong desire to "enjoy life". With the changes of the times, the days when you entered the university are gone forever, but due to many factors, it is still an indisputable fact that some students "mix" with the university. Teachers "release water" and students "study happily", so "everyone is happy" inevitably makes people worry about the quality of college students.
Classroom is the main position of teaching and educating people. Therefore, improving the quality of higher education requires students to return to common sense and study hard, but more importantly, teachers return to their posts and devote themselves to teaching and educating people.
When students complain that some university classrooms are too "watery", teachers are also troubled and tortured by "watery": students' learning enthusiasm, learning effect and training quality are declining, and problems such as putting grades and asking for water exist from time to time. Students don't listen carefully in class, ask the teacher for grades after the exam, and the teacher doesn't pay attention to the lecture, so they let the water go when the exam is graded. Students still think that such teachers are kind, but complain and accuse those serious and strict teachers. ...
For this phenomenon, some researchers believe that it is only a worldwide "score inflation" phenomenon. With the gradual development of higher education from elite education to popular education, with the increase of the number of educated people and the increasingly fierce competition in the job market, score inflation has become an inevitable objective phenomenon, which has appeared in developed countries that have achieved the popularization of higher education. According to the data, only 27% of Harvard students got an A in 1966, and by 1996, the number had risen to 46%. In the same year, 82% of Harvard graduates received honorary graduates. The most direct reasons for the expansion of scores include students' participation in teachers' evaluation and teachers' speculative behavior to reduce the difficulty of courses, while the deeper reason is that colleges and universities have lowered the admission standards, and at the same time, in order to improve students' satisfaction with the school, they have lowered the requirements for students.
Although "score inflation" is a common phenomenon in the world, it has a lot to do with the university training mode of "strict entry and wide exit". If you can basically graduate from college, students will think it doesn't matter whether you read or not. Therefore, the elimination mechanism should be established to improve the quality of university education through "lenient entry and strict exit". Historically, strict elimination mechanism has played a positive role. For example, from 1928 to 1937, the annual elimination rate of students in Tsinghua University is 27. 1%, the highest elimination rate in science colleges is 69.8%, and that in engineering colleges is 67.5%. When Wu Zhuzheng, a famous physicist, was in charge of the Department of Physics in Tsinghua, the elimination rate of students of 1932 was as high as 82.8%. Such a high elimination rate has not caused social chaos, but has trained a group of outstanding students. During the period of Tsinghua University Physics Department 1929 ~ 1938, there were 2 academicians of China Academy of Sciences and 2 academicians of American Academy of Sciences.
Times have changed. Of course, we can't simply copy the elimination mechanism of that year today, but in the new era when higher education has become popular, it is necessary to improve the quality of higher education by "lenient entry and strict exit".
