When Mr. Qi Gong was entrusted by Beijing Normal University to write the school motto for Beijing Normal University, he answered this question very accurately. The answer is the famous eight-character motto of Beijing Normal University: "Learn to be a teacher and run the world." If we apply Han Yu's language style, it can be summarized as "erudite and versatile, worthy of being a model" It can be seen that Han Yu's three sentences embody the three specific tasks of teachers, namely, preaching, teaching and dispelling doubts. And Mr. Qi Gong's two sentences focus on the standard of being a teacher. Personally, I think these two sentences are more important than Han Yu's three.
But the problem is that Mr. Qi Gong's standard mainly talks about the external standard of being a teacher, but he doesn't mention the internal moral character of being a teacher. Probably, the old man thought that since he joined the profession of burning himself and illuminating others, the moral character of being a teacher was needless to say, so the old man undoubtedly gave up boldly. But for each of us, we need to add "Xiu De".
Three, the above, whether Xiu De, Fu Xue, Fan Xing, or preaching, teaching, and dispelling doubts, all take society as the main body and unilaterally set requirements and tasks for teachers. But as far as I know, as a social division of labor and a profession, teachers shoulder too high expectations and too heavy responsibilities, so that many teachers are crushed under a heavy burden. There are two noteworthy performances: career change and sinking. In fact, there is also a less noticeable performance, that is, barely supporting it, which leads to complete bankruptcy of personality, economy, family and even all aspects, and even being abandoned by society. Compared with those individuals who deserve it because of the crime of sinking, those individuals who are on the verge of failure because of their inability to support are really deeply sympathetic and deplorable, and we have to think further: What's the matter? What should we do?
We may have to return to the responsibility of the state and society for teachers as a professional group. Because we unilaterally emphasize the requirements and burdens on teachers, we unconsciously forget the responsibilities that society should bear to teachers. Paying attention to education and respecting teachers, because of years of unremitting efforts, has become the consensus of the society, forming a very simple slogan: "respect teachers and attach importance to teaching." However, I feel that there is still a big gap between our level of understanding and our policy orientation and actual effect, which often makes people feel that this slogan is empty and erratic. First, we can find that the logical order of "respecting teachers" and "emphasizing teaching" is wrong, and we should put "emphasizing teaching" before "respecting teachers", that is, not because we want to respect teachers, but because we want to "emphasize teaching". Secondly, under the guidance of the slogan and policy of "attaching importance to teaching and respecting teachers", there is still a lack of an effective intermediary to make education truly valued and teachers truly respected. It is precisely because of the lack of this intermediary that the policy of "emphasizing teaching and respecting teachers" can not be implemented and can not achieve practical results. What should this intermediary be? To paraphrase a term of economic operation, I think it should be: input! So I think it is necessary to add a new concept and vocabulary after "respecting teachers": investment!
At this point, we can draw the following vocabulary system:
(a) Re-education, respect for teachers and investment; -Requirements for society;
(2): Xiu De, Fu Xue and Fan Xing; Requirements for teachers;
(3): preaching, teaching, and dispelling doubts. -Mission requirements.
The first item emphasizes the responsibility of society to education, especially to teachers; Item (2) emphasizes the responsibility of teachers to improve and improve their own quality; If you have these two foundations, the requirements of item (3) for teachers' professional tasks can be easily completed.
