Foshan University has passed the examination of the Ministry of Education and is now renamed as Foshan College of Science and Technology.

Foshan University, now renamed Foshan Institute of Science and Technology, is located in Foshan City, Guangdong Province. The school originated from Foshan Normal University and Foshan Branch of South China Agricultural College, and was founded in 1958. After a series of development and merger, Foshan University and Foshan College of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry merged on 1995 to form Foshan College of Science and Technology, which was upgraded to an undergraduate course.

The school has three campuses, covering a total area of more than 2,200 mu, 15 secondary colleges, covering 54 undergraduate majors. In addition, there are 7 first-level disciplines authorized by master's degree, and 10 categories authorized by master's degree.
