After graduating from normal school, Mr. Liu Baichuan 1926 served as the principal of the experimental primary school attached to Donghai Middle School, the teaching director of the experimental primary school attached to Yangzhou Middle School, the clerk of the Education Department of Jiangsu Province, and the director of the rural experimental zone in Dagang, Jiangsu Province. During the Anti-Japanese War, he served as editorial secretary of Sichuan Education Department, director-general of Compulsory Education Committee, associate professor of West China University, professor of Sichuan University and part-time associate professor of Jinling University. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, he served as the director of the Fourth and Third Division of the Education Department of Jiangsu Province, and concurrently served as a professor of Jiangsu Institute of Education and director of the experimental area of basic education; After liberation, he served as director and professor of workers and peasants education in Sunan Institute of Culture and Education, and director and professor of education in Jiangsu Normal University. 1July, 1956, ordered by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, he went to Wuxi to establish Wuxi Teachers College, tentatively named: Jiangsu Province Middle School Teachers Training Course. 1957 was wrongly classified as "Rightist". After suffering, 1986 was completely rehabilitated.

Mr. Liu Baichuan devoted his life to the education in China, and made in-depth research and practice on the primary education, rural education, national education and holistic education in new China. He has published more than 40 books, mainly including Diary of a Primary School Principal, Notes on the Implementation of Rural Education (three series in total), National Education, Research on Modern Children's Education, and Quality Education.
