Issued by: National College English Test Committee for Band 4 and Band 6. CET-4, the abbreviation of CET-4, is a national English test sponsored by the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education.

The main target of the examination is college students, undergraduates or graduate students who have completed CET-4 according to the educational syllabus. Standardized grades 4 and 6 were prepared at the end of 1986 and formally implemented at 1987.

After weighted equivalence, the original scores of CET-4 and CET-6 are converted into normal scores with an average of 500 and a standard deviation of 70. At the same time, there is no passing line for CET-4 and CET-6, and the examination certificate is changed to a transcript.
