What is the education system in China?
Education in China can be roughly divided into the following stages: preschool education, primary education, secondary education, higher education and continuing education. And China has nine years of compulsory education.

Nine-year compulsory education is compulsory for all school-age children and adolescents, and it is a public welfare undertaking that the state must guarantee. The quality of compulsory education is related to the healthy growth of hundreds of millions of children, the development of the country and the future of the nation.

Preschool education refers to the educational process that children aged 3-5 receive in kindergartens.

Primary education refers to the educational process that children aged 6- 1 1 receive in primary schools. Primary schools are generally managed by local governments, but also by individuals and non-governmental organizations.

Secondary education refers to the process of receiving education in secondary schools from 12 to 17. Junior high school, ordinary high school, vocational high school and technical secondary school all belong to technical secondary schools. Ordinary middle schools are divided into junior high schools and senior high schools, each with a three-year academic system. Some junior high school graduates go to senior high schools, and some go to vocational high schools and technical secondary schools.

Higher education is junior college, undergraduate and postgraduate education after secondary education. Institutions that implement higher education in China are universities, colleges and junior colleges. Colleges and universities have three functions: teaching, scientific research and social service.

Continuing education includes adult technical training, adult non-academic higher education and literacy education.
