1 xidian university, referred to as "Xidian" or "Xijundian" for short, is a national key university directly under the central government and the Ministry of Education, and jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and China Electronics Technology Corporation. With the advantages of 20 1 1 plan, 21/project and 985 project, it has become a national first-class discipline innovation platform. It is one of the earliest two key military academies for national defense industry in China and one of the graduate schools approved by the Ministry of Education. It has been selected into the National Integrated Circuit Talent Training Base, the Integrated Research Platform of the Ministry of Education, the World-class Network Security College, the National Model Microelectronics College and the China Institute of Labor.

2. The school was formerly the Broadcasting School of the Central Military Commission, 193 1 was born in Ruijin, Jiangxi. It has experienced such historical periods as Radio School of the Central Military Commission, Telecommunication Engineering College of North China Military Region, Engineering School of China People's Revolutionary Military Commission and Communication Engineering College of China People's Liberation Army. 1958 moved to Xi 'an. 1966, transformed into a local organizational system and renamed Northwest Institute of Telecommunications Engineering; 1988 changed its name to xidian university. The school has been subordinate to the Central Military Commission, the National Defense Science, Technology and Industry Committee, the Sixth Machinery Department, the Fourth Machinery Department, the Ministry of Electronics Industry, the Ministry of Machinery and Electronics, and the Ministry of Information Industry, and was placed under the management of the Ministry of Education in 2000.

3. As of March 20021year, the school has two campuses, north and south, with a total area of about 270 hectares. The school building area is 6.5438+0.3 million square meters, and the value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is 654.38+0.39 1 100 million yuan. There are 17 secondary colleges and departments, 65 undergraduate majors, 10 postdoctoral research stations, 14 first-class disciplines authorized by doctoral degrees and 26 first-class disciplines authorized by master's degrees.
