Starting from 1986, the College of Special Education of Zhengzhou Normal University began to train special education teachers. So far, trained special education teachers have spread all over the special education schools in Henan Province, becoming the main force of teaching and management. The college was established on the basis of the former Henan Special Education Normal School. It is the only normal school in Henan Province engaged in the training of special education teachers. It undertakes the important task of training teachers for special education schools in the province. After 26 years of accumulation, it has become the backbone force supporting the development of special education in Henan Province, and it is also one of the few ordinary undergraduate colleges engaged in higher special education earlier in China.
