Legal analysis: walking refers to the applicant who is recommended by the undergraduate school and admitted as a graduate student through the evaluation form without going through some preliminary procedures such as written examination. The Ministry of Education has also made specific provisions on recommending a small number of outstanding undergraduate graduates to study for master's degree without examination.

Legal basis: Article 5 of the Regulations on Academic Degrees in People's Republic of China (PRC), a graduate student of an institution of higher learning or scientific research, or a person with the same academic ability as a graduate student who has passed the course examination and thesis defense for a master's degree and reached the following academic level, shall be awarded a master's degree:

(a) to master the solid basic theory and systematic professional knowledge of this discipline;

(2) Having the ability to engage in scientific research or independently undertake professional and technical work.
