Mai Hua was fascinated by calligraphy when he was a teenager, and often hung around the second-hand bookstall and visited the handwriting of famous calligraphers. His early calligraphy was deeply influenced by Liu Shi 'an, but at ordinary times he devoted himself to copying various styles. In view of the fact that the History of Inscriptions published before the Anti-Japanese War failed to link the past and the present, he wrote the book China Calligraphy Art to promote the calligraphy art of the motherland.
From the 23rd year of the Republic of China (1934) to the 26th year of the Republic of China (1937), it lasted for three years, and even broke down from overwork. When this book was published, I was bedridden and couldn't proofread it. The lithographic bureau of the printing factory has no experience in the arrangement of inscriptions, which leads to the confusion of the arrangement order of the whole book. Mai once participated in the "Guangdong Cultural Relics Exhibition" and wrote articles about Guangdong calligraphers in past dynasties. Later, he participated in the Hong Kong Calligraphy Symposium, edited and studied the monthly magazine Calligraphy, and held a calligraphy competition for Hong Kong and Macao compatriots, which was very active.
194 1 year, Japanese troops occupied Hong Kong and Mai fled to Shaoguan to teach at Guangzhou University. It was embarrassing at that time, but I still focused on my studies. In the case of lack of information, he wrote the Origin of Calligraphy, introducing more than 300 frames of works from Yin Ruins to the Republic of China. He was also invited by Sun Yat-sen University, Lingnan University and Zhongyuan Middle School to teach and demonstrate calligraphy.
1945 After War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression's victory, Guangzhou University moved from Shaoguan to Guangzhou to resume classes.
65438-0946, Associate Professor, China Institute of Culture.

He once published "The Contribution of Han and Jin Wooden Slips to Book History", "The Origin of Calligraphy" and "Yizhou Book Shadow" as a column in Business Daily, which was serialized day by day and compiled into a book at the same time.
1948 entrusted by Gao Kening, he founded Sheng Mao Memorial School in the countryside and served as honorary principal.
1949 after the liberation of Guangzhou, colleges and universities merged, and Mai was employed as an associate professor at the College of Literature of South China United University. At the invitation of Professor Xian Yuqing, he appraised the inscriptions of past dynasties for Sun Yat-sen University. Later, Wang Xizhi's chronicle was compiled.
1956 10 entered the Guangdong Provincial Museum of Literature and History and served as the head of the painting and calligraphy research group of the museum.
