GRE is an entrance examination result required by graduate schools of universities all over the world, and it is also the most important criterion for admissions committees to decide whether to grant scholarships to applicants.
GRE was first held in the United States by Harvard, Yale, Columbia and Princeton. Originally undertaken by Carnegie Foundation, 65438-0948 was handed over to the newly established ETS. Since then, it has been held in many parts of the world every year. The Examination Center of China Ministry of Education is responsible for the centralized management and undertaking of foreign examinations such as GRE in China.
Examination form
There are two kinds of GRE exams: general exams and subject exams. Candidates need to take one or two exams according to their own conditions and the requirements of the school they are applying for. Generally speaking, GRE exam refers to the general exam, and most China students take the general exam most often.
The purpose of GRE general examination is to measure the general potential ability of candidates to engage in academic research at the advanced stage according to the basic knowledge and ability level of university graduates, and does not involve any special requirements of any major. The purpose of GRE professional examination is to test the knowledge, skills and abilities of candidates in a certain discipline or professional field, and it is generally used for cross-disciplinary applications.
