Located in Beijing, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (hereinafter referred to as BUPT) is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC) and jointly established by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It ranks among the national "double-first-class" construction universities, "21project" and "985 engineering advantage discipline innovation platform", and is a founding member of Beijing Hi-Tech University Alliance, China Artificial Intelligence Education Association and CDIO Engineering Education Alliance. Selected into the national "11plan" and "201/plan" and the China municipal government's scholarship receiving institutions for overseas students in China.
The first batch of outstanding engineer education and training programs of the Ministry of Education, the national postgraduate program for building high-level universities, the first batch of "new engineering" research and practice projects of the Ministry of Education, the first batch of demonstration universities for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform in China, the first-class network security college construction demonstration project universities, the national college students' cultural quality education base, and the national postal industry talent training base.
According to the school official website in August 2020, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications has 14 teaching units, a graduate school and 43 undergraduate majors. The disciplines cover 9 disciplines including science, engineering, literature, law, economics, management, education, philosophy and art, involving 22 first-class disciplines.
On April 20 19, the official website of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications showed that Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications has 10 doctoral degree authorized first-level disciplines, 22 master's degree authorized first-level disciplines (including first-level disciplines 10), 7 professional master's degree authorized points and 6 post-doctoral research mobile stations.
