What courses are there in Canadian high schools?
Canada's senior high schools adopt the credit system, including English, mathematics, natural science, history, geography, physical education, art, home economics, French, and basic computer applications. Students choose courses according to their hobbies and future development ideas. In elective courses, there are five series of courses, and students focus on one series, choosing from low to high.
The five elective courses are: business series: including statistics, accounting, various business laws and regulations, consumer science, productivity layout science and so on.
Natural science series: including physics, chemistry, biology, various branches of advanced mathematics, advanced computer languages, etc.
Art series: including drama, painting, photography and various artistic designs;
Technical series: including electrician, carpenter, plumber, auto repair, house maintenance, etc.
Social science series: including history, sociology, anthropology, humanities and other branches.
This course enables Canadian high school graduates to adapt to the various needs of society. Some students may become politicians, scientists, engineers, business managers, doctors, lawyers, teachers and so on. In the future when they enter university, those students who can't or even don't want to go to university can stand on their own feet in society through their own efforts.
