What is a national defense education base?
National defense education base refers to the basic position of national defense education that is open to organized primary and secondary school students and the society free of charge on National Defense Education Day.

Museums, memorial halls, science and technology museums, cultural centers, youth palaces and other places with the function of national defense education, such as martyrs' cemeteries and revolutionary sites, can be named as national defense education bases with the approval of the people's governments of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government if they meet the following conditions:

(1) Having a clear theme of national defense education;

(2) Having a sound management organization and rules and regulations;

(3) Having corresponding national defense education facilities;

(4) Having the necessary financial guarantee;

(five) has a significant social education effect.

The National Defense Education Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) promulgated by the NPC Standing Committee in April 2006 stipulates: "National defense education bases should be strengthened and constantly improved to give full play to the functions of national defense education."
