In that special historical period, he defined a spirit and a day with 22 years of youth. Perhaps, today's post-90 s professionals don't think this is awesome. But for the middle-aged post-80s generation, compared with Lei Feng, most of us are just "stubborn copper men".
I have traveled a lot in the industry, met many managers and partners, and made many young people and entrepreneurs who are committed to becoming senior management talents and leaders in China's wealth management industry. A few days ago, a friend asked me to write an article about the leaders I have seen in recent years. What are the characteristics of those excellent people and how to find them? An image naturally comes to my mind: a screw.
I don't like writing chicken soup, but this one seems to have to be chicken soup.
▎ Spiral leaders are the driving force behind the Law of Attraction.
Every huge and precise machine, no matter how beautiful and complicated in concept and drawing, starts with the first screw in reality. This screw seems to be happy-go-lucky, but it is actually patiently looking for opportunities. Once it finds an opportunity to find an imperfect but good cutting position, it will not hesitate to drill down desperately, grab every grain of soil and make itself the strongest fulcrum in the whole picture.
Because of its research, the ground began to sink deeply. At first, it may be just a small puddle, but over time, it will even form a huge basin. As a result, other parts and other pneumatic screws around began to approach it, and the flowing water and nutrients began to gather here. Around such a screw, a huge machine found the fulcrum and starting point of standing.
This is the law of attraction. Only (as long as) you are brave and persistent enough will there be other forces around you.
In the wealth management industry, every excellent leader I know is like this screw. In their career, almost all of them are "isolated and helpless" at the beginning, with no glamorous background and no so-called resources. Most of them are single-handed and completely wild fighters.
However, they always keep their "smelly and hard" characteristics, seize the opportunity without hesitation and take root quickly. One person, several people, a dozen people, dozens or hundreds of people ... from simple homework to complex homework, from wandering the rivers and lakes to becoming an industry role model. You will find that the screw is actually the same screw, but its temperament and pursuit have spread throughout the whole machine. More interestingly, the whole machine, no matter how complicated it is today, seems to be driven by this nail.
▲? The whole machine is constantly driven by this nail.
Every wealth management organization does not lack perfect blueprints and imported parts, but such smelly and hard screws are extremely precious and irreplaceable.
Spiral leaders are role models driven by performance at critical moments.
Some people refute my view that a good leader should not be a chip or processor of a machine. How can it be a screw? I haven't carefully observed other industries, but in China's local wealth management industry, chip-based leaders are often not very smart.
In this industry, more than 90% executives and founders are top people such as industry insiders and professional financial consultants. Even those who change careers halfway have the personal ability and practical history to achieve top performance. Why? Because the chips and processors are taller, the form is exquisite and perfect, and there is no performance, which is all floating clouds.
Who can drive performance in reality, who knows how to drive performance, and who can dig out the key difficulties and experiences of performance driving from reality at the fastest speed and pass them on to the background chip for processing? Only this screw is deeply tied to the market, integrated with the team and always realizes the terminal pressure of the whole machine. Of course, it can be a smart and learning-loving screw, but it must be a screw first.
In the early incubation period or the difficult period of starting a business, leaders must attack the city by themselves, win big projects, acquire big customers and open up big markets. The fineness of the chip and the beauty of the integrated circuit board cannot stand all kinds of rolling and tossing. Only the heart that never forgets the initiative and the screw that works hard can become a performance-driven example in the most critical and difficult period. That man is a real leader.
In fact, in many cases, the ultimate compressive strength and future evolution ability of a machine do not depend on the high-tech degree of the chip, but on the hardness and elasticity of the screw. An excellent leader is such a screw, hard enough, flexible enough and smart enough. Of course, it can't replace every part of the whole machine. From the moment it was born, it could not be a complex and exquisite processor.
But it sets an example for all screws and parts on the machine, and its hardness and elasticity will be passed on to all other screws, so that intelligent design and exquisite iteration can be passed on to products and customers.
Some managers look like screws, but in fact they only have hats and no tips.
You may think that the screw leadership I mentioned above is ubiquitous and not difficult to find, because many managers seem to be such screws, which play a fundamental role at the grassroots or middle level. In fact, many people look like screws, but in fact they are just a nut without a tip.
Stick it on the machine or put it on the wall. It looks hard. The nuts are polished round and bright, which looks like the temperament of German imported seiko products, but it is not "stuck" there, just "stuck" there.
When the whole machine runs smoothly, it perfectly plays the proper role of a hat-it reflects the height of the machine. But once the machine starts to tremble and the ground starts to shake, it can only tremble and shake with the machine, and it can't play a fixed role at all.
Then why didn't it choose to leave? Because once you leave the machine and pull it out, you will find that this screw has no tip. It is really not easy to find the next wall or machine, and you have to "paste" it yourself again, so it looks so good.
The real screw talents are not attached to a machine, but set up a critical force; Not hanging on the wall, but making a deep valley. Being a screw that never rusts is the leadership that China's wealth management industry really needs. Imagine that if Comrade Lei Feng lived to this day, with his reputation, dedication, love of learning, tenacity and trustee's responsibility, wouldn't he be a wealth manager worthy of entrusting.
