Why do you want to study pedagogy?
Strictly speaking, in fact, China has formed a relatively complete pedagogy system very early, and the specific time is similar to that of ancient Greece, maybe a little later. For example, in the Spring and Autumn Period, it was an educational act for Confucius to accept private lectures from his disciples. The most famous title of his old man's house is thinker, followed by educator. This can't be sorted. After all, his thoughts have a far-reaching influence on China culture, and he must rank first. At that time, the Greeks set up Lv Keang Academy and Akkademi Academy, and at the same time, Qi had Jixia Academy, which was official and compatible with the ideas of Bao Butong School. These two points are better than the Greeks.

A long time ago, we had educators, special educational places, unified teaching materials, private schools and official institutions specializing in training talents. We invented the imperial examination system to select talents regardless of their origins. No matter how much society despises exam-oriented education, imperial examination is actually one of the greatest inventions in the history of education. It may not be the most perfect, but it is the most advanced talent selection method for a long time, which is much more reliable than being an official by means of gate valve and nepotism (a common practice in Europe before the introduction of the examination system).

Pedagogy in ancient China was very developed. Due to various reasons, our textbooks and syllabus have not been updated, and many problems have appeared in the later period. After the Opium War, it was impacted by western thoughts, collapsed at once, and was completely rebuilt by intellectuals who were seriously westernized under the western model. It is hard to say whether it is successful or not, and later generations will judge it with history; But it would be too modest to say that pedagogy has not been formed in China. Our ancestors were indeed much more advanced than European monkeys in many ways.
