Content introduction:
Baruch de Spinoza (1632- 1677), Descartes and Leibniz are also called the three rationalists of modern western philosophy.
This book is Spinoza's main work, and his philosophical thoughts are basically expressed in this book. Spinoza, like Descartes, thinks that only the knowledge derived from the first few definitions and axioms intuitively obtained from rational ability, like geometry, is the most reliable knowledge. Therefore, this book is written in a geometric way. Starting from ontology and epistemology, the highest concept of ethics is finally defined as freedom: freedom is an effort to "self-preservation" and "rationally loving God" is the way to realize human inner freedom.
About the author:
/kloc-a "typical capitalist country" in the 7th century, Spinoza (163- 1677) was a great Dutch philosopher, materialist, fighting atheist and a pioneer of rationalism. Spinoza's worldview was formed in the period of rapid development of capitalist relations of production in the Netherlands, which reflected the interests and demands of the emerging bourgeoisie. His philosophy should be regarded as defending bourgeois freedom.
