Since 2000, specialized basic courses "Surface Science and Surface Technology" and public courses "Materials and Human Civilization" have been offered for undergraduates majoring in materials physics, materials engineering, powder materials science and engineering, inorganic materials and so on.
The basic courses of film materials science for master's degree and introduction to surface science and engineering for doctor's degree are introduced.
As the person in charge of the course, Foundation of Materials Science and Engineering, a basic course for undergraduates, was recognized as a national excellent course by the Ministry of Education in 2006.
