Huazhong Normal University is a national key university under the "2 1 1 Project" directly under the Ministry of Education. It is also one of the six key comprehensive normal universities in China (Beijing Normal University, East China Normal University, Central China Normal University, Northeast Normal University, Shaanxi Normal University and Southwest University). It is an important base for the country to train teachers and other senior professionals in colleges and secondary schools.
