First, the object of Confucius' education is "teaching without distinction"
In the past, children from wealthy families had the opportunity to study, which was a typical "learning by officials" and "elite education". Confucius broke this monopoly. He does not exclude "elite education", but pays more attention to "civilian education", so that people of different classes and categories have the opportunity to learn.
Second, the content of Confucius' education is "treating benevolence inside and courtesy outside"
Zhao Pu, a poet in the Song Dynasty, famously said, "Half the Analects of Confucius govern the world", which shows that Confucius' view of governing the country is really extraordinary. So what does he rely on to "rule the world"? It's "courtesy" and "benevolence". "Benevolence" is the moral standard, and "courtesy" is the moral standard; "Benevolence" is the content and "ceremony" is the form; "Benevolence" is the spirit and "courtesy" is the appearance.
Thirdly, Confucius' educational method is "teaching students in accordance with their aptitude"
Tao Xingzhi, a famous educator, said that cultivating and educating people, just like planting flowers and trees, should first understand the characteristics of flowers and trees, and give fertilization, watering and training education according to different situations. He called it "teaching students in accordance with their aptitude". In fact, Confucius was the first educator in China who advocated "teaching students in accordance with their aptitude", and also the earliest, most complete and in-depth educator in the world who applied the method of teaching students in accordance with their aptitude to the teaching process.
Fourthly, the educational feature of Confucius is "persuasion"
Ye Shengtao said in The Scarecrow that the teacher's teaching is not a total teaching, but a camera induction. In fact, this is just a copy of Confucius' thought. Confucius never advocated corporal punishment in educational methods, let alone "cramming". When we read The Analects of Confucius, we seldom see Confucius directly "indoctrinate" his students with long speeches.
