There are two universities in Ankang City, Shaanxi Province, Ankang College and Ankang Vocational and Technical College. Ankang University is the only provincial full-time undergraduate college in Ankang City, Shaanxi Province. Its main task is to cultivate applied talents with high comprehensive quality and innovative spirit.

Ankang College is a member of the first batch of outstanding agricultural and forestry talents education and training programs, and also a member of the Hanjiang River Basin University Alliance. Its predecessor was Ankang College, which was founded in 1958.

Ankang Vocational and Technical College, referred to as Ankang Vocational College for short, was the seventh normal school in Shaanxi Province, founded in 1905. Is a comprehensive public provincial vocational college, located at No.2 Ankang Avenue, National High-tech Zone, Ankang City, Shaanxi Province.
