What is the Social Affairs Department of the Ministry of Education?
The Department of Social Science Research and Ideological and Political Work of the Ministry of Education is responsible for the organization and management of social science research projects in national colleges and universities. Its main responsibilities are:

1. Organize the formulation and publication of medium and long-term plans and subject guides for social science research in national colleges and universities;

2. Organize and guide the declaration, evaluation, project funding, mid-term inspection and achievement acceptance of social science research projects of the Ministry of Education;

3. Manage the funds for social science research projects of the Ministry of Education;

4. Formulate the Measures for the Administration of Social Science Research Projects of the Ministry of Education and other relevant rules and regulations;

5. Organize and support academic exchanges at home and abroad on social science research in institutions of higher learning through scientific research projects.
