He used to be the deputy editor of Foreign Education, the educational volume of Encyclopedia of China, and co-edited the first comparative education textbook in New China. Published monographs and edited works include University of London, History of Comparative Education, Outline of Comparative History of Chinese and Foreign Education, and British Education. His works translated separately or jointly include Principles of Education, Nationalism and Education, Dewey School and so on. The Chinese Translation Series of World Higher Education Masterpieces, hosted by the translator, is a classic textbook for comparative education and higher education majors in Chinese colleges and universities, which has a wide social influence. It is the first batch of master students and doctoral tutors majoring in comparative education in New China.
