The significance of family education
Family education is an educational activity centered on parent-child interaction in the family. It is a process in which adults continue to educate and influence their children in all aspects of family life according to their expected goals, and it is also a process in which family members learn from each other and influence each other.

The essential characteristics of family education are embodied in three aspects:

1. Family education is a parent-child centered educational activity.

Family education is the interaction between adults and children at home, mainly the interaction between parents and children. The relationship between parents and children has the characteristics of non-selectivity and irrevocability, and parents must fulfill their legal obligations of raising and educating underage children, which determines that parents are the protagonists of children's education. This kind of education is not simply preaching to children, but creating a good family life and interpersonal environment for children, accompanying, listening, edifying and inspiring children, and influencing their lives with their lives. Therefore, the process of family education is also a process of parents' own learning and self-improvement.

2. Family education is accompanied by family life.

Family education takes place in the private field of the family, and its main characteristics are dispersion, randomness and concealment. Its contents, methods and intentions are all included in daily life, including the direct education of adults to children and the education or influence of indirect factors.

Subtle. It is the family environment and the manners of the elders that play a role in children's daily life. However, these factors are often undisguised and contain no false elements. The educational function of children is always everywhere, and it is a kind of infiltration from the outside to the inside.

Family education is a kind of lifelong education.

Family education starts from the birth of a child and runs through all stages of the life cycle, involving all aspects of life. From infant and adolescent education to middle-aged and elderly self-education, it is an organic connection and unity. The former stage is the foundation of the latter stage, and the latter stage continues the achievements of the previous stage.

The lifelong nature of family education determines that every family member is an independent learner, educator and educated person. This is the essential feature of lifelong education in modern society, which embodies a new and equal intergenerational relationship and is conducive to the positive, comprehensive and sustainable development of every member of the family. In this sense, the process of educating children is also the learning process of parents, and the process of adults and children growing together.
