The main responsibilities of the Municipal Education Bureau are:

(a) to implement the education policies, laws and regulations of the party and the state, study and formulate the education policies and regulations of our city, and supervise the implementation.

(five) in charge of the city's teachers' work, planning and guiding the construction of teaching and administrative staff at all levels and schools in the city; Guide the internal management system of the school and the reform of education and teaching; Cooperate with relevant departments to formulate, organize and guide the implementation of relevant policies and regulations on labor wages and personnel management in the education system; In accordance with the cadre management authority, strengthen the management of cadres in the education system.

(six) centralized management of the city's various academic education and entrance examination. Responsible for the city's primary and secondary school enrollment and student status management; Plan and guide self-study exams, private education and eliminate illiteracy among young people.

(seven) centralized management of the city's normal graduates employment guidance and employment system reform.

(eight) responsible for the city's foreign and educational exchanges with Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

(nine) to guide the city's school infrastructure construction, responsible for safety education in primary and secondary schools.

(ten) to guide the ideological and political work, moral education, sports health and art education and national defense education in schools.
