Adult higher education in Beijing Institute of Technology started at 1956. After years of development and construction, it is now established as four colleges, a center and a base, namely: continuing education college, distance education college, international education cooperation college, vocational and technical education college, Beijing Institute of Technology education and training center, and national key construction vocational education teacher training base. The School of Continuing Education of Beijing Institute of Technology is responsible for adult higher education, vocational education programs, modern distance education, Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools, continuing education and training. Over the past 50 years, the college has made full use of its own advantages and comprehensive resources to train a large number of outstanding talents for national construction and national defense. In the new historical period, in order to implement the spirit of "Jiao Gao 16", the School of Continuing Education of Beijing Institute of Technology and Beijing University of Arts and Sciences jointly established a vocational education project department according to the actual market demand. The project department sets up majors according to the market and courses according to the post requirements of the employer, with the fundamental goal of cultivating skilled, production-oriented, service-oriented and management-oriented middle and senior applied talents and cultivating practical talents for the first line of production.
