What does the new three arts mean?
The new three arts refer to mathematics, science and foreign languages in the United States. 1958, the American government promulgated the National Defense Education Act, requiring public schools focusing on general education to strengthen the teaching of the above three subjects. It is different from the "three arts" in ancient European school curriculum, namely grammar, rhetoric and logic. Known as the "new three arts".
