The school, formerly known as Nanning Vocational College, was founded in 1984. It first started in Nanning Institute of Education 1952. 1In July, 1999, Nanning Vocational College, Nanning Education College and Guangxi Radio and TV University merged to form nanning college for vocational technology.

In June 2000, Nanning Construction Technician School merged, and in February 2006, it was formally merged with Nanning Normal School.
