One of these two universities is in the west and the other is in the middle. Similarly, both universities are 985/2 1 1 universities. The difference is that Hunan University entered the first-class university construction as Class B last year, while Chongqing University is Class A.. Hunan University and Chongqing University are on the same level, but Chongqing University is a little better.

Hunan university

Hunan University, founded in 1903, is located in Changsha City, Hunan Province, directly under the Ministry of Education of China. It is a national key university jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Hunan Provincial People's Government and the State Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, and ranks among the national "double-class", "985 Project" and "2 165438 Project".

The school has been selected into the national "20 1 1 Plan", "KLOC-0/1Plan", "Excellent Legal Talents Education and Training Plan", "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan", "National Construction of High-level University Public Postgraduate Plan", "New Engineering Research and Practice Project" and "General China". Hunan University is a member of international organizations such as the International Union of Art, Design and Media Colleges and Universities, and the BRICS Network University, and is also a member of AMBA International Certification.

The running of Hunan University originated from Yuelu Academy, which was founded in the 9th year of Kaibao in Song Taizu (976), and the new current affairs school of higher learning, which was founded in the 23rd year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (1897). 1937 was renamed as National Hunan University, and 1949 was renamed as Hunan University.

Chongqing University

Chongqing University, founded in 1929, is located in Chongqing. It is a research-oriented comprehensive national key university directly under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Ministry of Education, one of the "Old Eight Schools of Architecture" and a national "double first-class", "2 1 1 Engineering" and "985 Project" university.

This university has been selected into the Alliance of Excellent Universities, Plan 20 1 1, Plan 1 1, Education and Training Plan for Excellent Engineers, Education and Training Plan for Excellent Legal Talents, and Public Postgraduate Plan for National Construction of High-level Universities, and it is a member of the Sino-Russian Alliance of Engineering Universities.

Chongqing University was approved as a provincial university on 1935 and renamed as "Chongqing University in Sichuan Province". Cooperation with the Central University that moved westward during the Anti-Japanese War. 1942 was renamed as National Chongqing University, and 1948 began to recruit graduate students. It was renamed Chongqing University on 1949 and 19865438. In 2000, the former Chongqing University, chongqing jianzhu university and Chongqing Institute of Architecture merged to form the new Chongqing University, whose name is still Chongqing University.
