According to Baidu Encyclopedia, National Northwest Associated University, referred to as "Northwest Associated University" for short, was a comprehensive university founded during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period in China. The school from integration to division lasted less than 1 year. In mid-July, the Ministry of Education instructed Northwest Associated University to be reorganized into five independent national universities, namely, National Northwest University, National Northwest Institute of Technology established by Northwest Associated University Institute of Technology and Jiaozuo Institute of Technology, National Northwest Normal College renamed by Northwest Associated University College of Education, National Northwest Agricultural College established by Northwest Agricultural College and Northwest Agricultural College, and National Northwest Medical College.

Under difficult conditions, Northwest Associated University set up its headquarters and liberal arts college in the former site of Gong Yuan, Xiang Xue, Chenggu County, an education college in the Confucian Temple, a business school in the former simple normal site outside Xiaoxiguan, and an engineering school in Guluba Catholic Church. Set up a medical school in the middle school lane of Nanzheng County (now Hantai District) (later moved outside the city due to plane bombing); Mianxian Wuhou Temple has an Agricultural College.
