Changde Vocational and Technical College is a comprehensive higher vocational college organized by Hunan Provincial People's Government, supervised by Changde Municipal People's Government and managed by Hunan Provincial Department of Education. Approved by the Hunan Provincial People's Government in April 2003, it was formed by the merger of Changde Agricultural School, Changde Health School and Changde Electromechanical Engineering School. The earliest school-running of the College can be traced back to Hunan Agricultural School founded in Changsha in 1905 (the 31st year of Guangxu reign of Qing Dynasty). Pharmaceutical technology specialty group is a demonstration specialty group of higher vocational education in Hunan province, and nursing training center is a training base supported by the central government.
