On Appreciation Education
Abstract: Today, appreciation education is not a new topic. The author believes that appreciation education requires educators to have personality traits such as love, patience and carefulness, so as to discover and capture the bright spots of the educated in time and implement appreciation education. At the same time, appreciating education does not deny critical education, but critical education should pay attention to art; Appreciation education depends on persistence, and only persistence can achieve the success of education.

Keywords: educational appreciation

Today, appreciation education is no longer a new topic, or even a cliche. An American philosopher once said, "The deepest desire of mankind is to be appreciated." Then, as an educator, the so-called appreciation means paying attention to students' words and deeds and using affirmation and praise appropriately, so as to achieve the purpose of establishing students' self-confidence and mobilizing students' enthusiasm. To this end, the author wants to say a few more words.

First, teachers should have personality traits

1, love

Love is the most basic condition that educators should have. Family education and school education should be caring education. Emotion cannot replace education, but education must be full of emotion. Appreciation education should be caring education. Only by loving children can we find the bright spots in children. If you are tired of treating your child as an educator, then you can't talk about education, let alone appreciate education.

Therefore, as an educator with modern ideas, we should have great enthusiasm, care for every child, and find the bright spots in them with the eyes of the appreciator, so that they can become perfect works of art in the hands of excellent sculptors, rather than a piece of firewood in the eyes of a woodcutter or useless rotten wood in the hands of a poor carpenter.

Step 2 be careful

Appreciation education requires teachers to have keen observation. This requires educators to observe carefully, seize the bright spot of children in time, find the breakthrough to solve problems, praise them in time, and determine the advantages and strengths of children, so as to improve their self-worth and form their desire for self-improvement. The appreciation of educators is like igniting a single spark, which is gradually starting a prairie fire.

I remember a break when the headmaster came to our class and talked with the students. During the conversation, the headmaster said a poem by Chairman Mao and asked Wang Fei to recite the whole poem. This classmate usually sleeps on his desk in class, and repeatedly says that he will never change his mistakes, but this time he actually recited Chairman Mao's poems by heart, which really surprised me. I suddenly felt love and respect in my heart, and I praised him at once. From then on, Wang Fei got rid of sleeping at his desk in class. He has been very serious in class and his academic performance has also advanced by leaps and bounds.

Step 3 be patient

No educational work can be accomplished overnight. This tells us that in the process of receiving education, the educated will be repeated or even retrogressed. Teachers must be patient, admit the faltering development, have confidence in the educated, and persistently implement appreciation education, otherwise they will give up halfway.

Second, appreciation education is to be good at discovering advantages and trying to enlarge them.

As the saying goes, gold is not enough, and no one is perfect. The same is true for students. Individual differences are manifested in study, personality or living habits, but we must firmly believe that every child has his own advantages. In fact, regardless of their grades, students are yearning for classes and teachers. Those so-called "poor students" often prefer to express themselves and serve the class. Therefore, it is very important to be good at discovering your own advantages and amplifying them, so as to gradually narrow your own shortcomings. I firmly believe that "all good children are boastful". Timely and accurate affirmation and praise will make students' advantages shine more brightly.

In addition, educators should accept the reality and admit the gap, and can't demand students with uniform standards. In teaching, I always set different goals for students at different levels. Goals with good foundation are higher, while those with poor foundation are lower. I will have different standards for different students when standardizing their behavior habits. For students with poor discipline, I only ask them to get rid of a certain problem within a certain period of time, rather than asking too much at once. Otherwise, students are prone to fear of difficulties, thus losing confidence and breaking the jar.

Thirdly, appreciation education does not deny criticism education.

Appreciation and criticism are both educational means. Here we advocate appreciation education, but we do not deny the role of criticism in the educational process. Criticism is a kind of frustration education for students, and it is also a necessary means in the education process.

Now most students are only children, and their families are obedient and doting on them. They have developed a selfish, willful and even bohemian character, with very fragile psychology and poor tolerance for difficulties and setbacks. To make students grow up healthily, frustration education is essential. Both families and schools should educate students about setbacks. Teacher's criticism is a kind of frustration education for students. It can not only help students realize shortcomings and mistakes, but also cultivate their perseverance and courage to overcome difficulties in the face of setbacks.

Several problems that should be paid attention to in critical education;

1, delay criticism

Teachers should control their emotions and delay their criticism of students. If there are some violations in class, try to put them in class and avoid accusations on the spot. This can not only improve the classroom utilization rate, but also provide students with opportunities for correction and reflection.

Once in class, a student suddenly pushed the door and came in without knocking. The students turned to him and looked at my expression at the same time. The classmate seemed to realize his mistake and stopped at the door waiting for criticism. I didn't say anything. Let him go back to his seat and continue his class. After class, I left him alone and asked him why he was late, so that he could reflect on himself. In fact, he realized his mistake long ago and sincerely apologized to me. This method of delaying criticism not only saves classroom time, but also avoids the embarrassment caused by direct conflict with students.

2. Prevent destructive criticism

Criticism should be directed at the behavior itself, not at the students as a whole. So as not to hurt students' self-esteem and self-confidence. Let the students accept the teacher's kind criticism and education with a happy attitude. Therefore, educators should pay attention to the art of language in the process of criticism and avoid saying things like "stupid" and "hopeless".

Fourth, appreciation education is about persistence.

Appreciation education is an action that educators often do, even if conditions permit, we should do it every day. Someone said: "I also carry out appreciation education, but praise only plays a role for a while." If appreciation education is continued, then praise will play a lasting role. In this constant praise, children constantly improve themselves, enhance their self-worth, and then develop in a good direction.

"It takes ten years to plant trees and a hundred years to educate people", and education is a long-term process. Good education methods and means are very important to cultivate excellent students, but to achieve final success, it is important to stick to it. Educators need to adhere to the implementation of appreciation education, so that the educated can always live in sunshine and self-confidence. Let them bathe in the bright sunshine and moisten in the breeze and drizzle.

Persistence is patience, and there will be obstacles in the education and management of students, which is an endless process of solving contradictions. If we want to persist, we must have patience and dedication, so that our works can transcend time and space, go deeper, and constantly move from naivety to maturity and from maturity to art.

Appreciation education is an educational means that educators should adhere to and an inviolable law for cultivating excellent students. Let's use appreciation education to raise students' sails and sail with them! □
