Zhaoqing University is a public full-time undergraduate college sponsored by the Guangdong Provincial People's Government and headed by the Provincial Education Department. It is located in Zhaoqing, a city in the Pearl River Delta of Guangdong Province (90 kilometers away from Guangzhou).

The school is located in Zhaoqing Xinghu Scenic Area, which echoes the landscape of Xinghu Lake and is beautiful. It is a good place for study and research.

The school was founded on 1970. In March 2000, Xijiang University and Zhaoqing Education College merged to form Zhaoqing College.

It is precisely because of the rich cultural heritage of the Xijiang River Basin that Zhaoqing University has embarked on a tortuous and accessible development path under the influence of Lingnan culture.
