From 65438 to 0999, the school set up an online education preparatory committee headed by Professor Yuan Guiren, former president and current Minister of Education, to carry out the preparatory work for the online education college. In July 2000, the Ministry of Education approved Beijing Normal University to carry out the pilot work of modern distance education. 2001March 10, the first opening ceremony of online education in Beijing Normal University was held ceremoniously.

In order to meet the needs of development in the new era and promote educational innovation, in April 2004, our school organically integrated four colleges, including the former online education college, and established the College of Continuing Education and Teacher Training (hereinafter referred to as the College), which integrates management and running. The establishment of the new college provides a broader development space for online education in our school.
