The conditions for running primary and secondary schools in the whole region have been further improved. The total area of primary and secondary schools in the region has reached 2.55 million square meters, with a total construction area of 520,000 square meters. There are 99 teaching buildings with a building area of 243,400 square meters. Over the years, a total of 12 schools have been relocated, rebuilt and built, with an investment of 62.25 million yuan, and 100 schools have been rebuilt, and 24 primary and secondary schools have completely completed the task of greening and beautifying schools. In terms of teaching equipment, the assembly of modern teaching equipment is gradually increasing. The total number of teaching equipment in primary and secondary schools in the region has exceeded 2 million. 20 schools have built multimedia language classrooms, 35 schools have built computer classrooms, and more than 65,438+0,540 computers have been installed. Eight schools are equipped with closed-circuit television teaching systems. Changping No.1 Middle School Distance Education Website was completed and opened in 2000, and the basic construction of Changping District Education Network Center has been completed.

Continue to adhere to the combination of the construction of school buildings in mountainous areas and the rational layout of schools. The appearance of schools in mountainous areas has been greatly improved, and the teaching equipment has basically reached the level of plain schools. Based on the conditions of running a school in our district, 22.5% of middle schools have reached a higher standard, and 18 middle schools have reached the acceptance standard of "Beijing Standardized School". It is planned that by 2003, all middle schools in our district will pass the acceptance of standardized schools. On the basis that all primary schools meet the municipal standards, 45% of central schools and primary schools directly under them meet the general standards, 25% are close to the higher standards, and 72% of rural primary schools meet the general standards, many of which meet the higher standards.
