Three important international environmental conferences
Three important international environmental conferences held in 1970s not only greatly promoted the development of environmental education in the world, but also had a far-reaching impact on the development of environmental education in Japan.

The first time was the first international conference on human environment held in Stockholm, Sweden from 65438 to 0972. The meeting adopted the first international environmental declaration in human history-the Declaration on Human Environment, which clearly pointed out the necessity of environmental education. In addition, the meeting also published the Action Plan for Human Environment, which clearly stated the purpose of environmental education. Secondly, from 65438 to 0975, an international conference on environmental education was held in Belgrade, which published the famous Belgrade Charter, defining the purpose, objectives, objects and guiding principles of environmental education. The Charter is still one of the important and classic reference materials for countries to think about environmental education. Finally, the first intergovernmental conference on environmental education was held in Tbilisi, the capital of the Soviet Republic of Georgia, on 1977. The meeting issued the Declaration of the Tbilisi Intergovernmental Conference on Environmental Education and the Proposal of the Intergovernmental Conference on Environmental Education, respectively expounding the tasks, objects, objectives, guiding principles and teaching materials of environmental education.
