Reading Notes on Tao Xingzhi's Selected Works of Education (1)
Listening to the topic of Tao Xingzhi's educational anthology, many teachers should be as discouraged as I am. The stereotype of "educational works" is a lot of theoretical knowledge, and reading such articles requires us to "drill in" and make great efforts, so teachers my age should have never read this book, and no one has recommended it to me.

And why should I buy this book and recommend it to everyone?

It was originally recommended by Professor Shen Xuancheng from School of Humanities, Hangzhou Normal University. Many teachers have the habit of recommending books, but I won't buy them all. I decided to buy them after I knew them. But after Professor Shen recommended it, I bought it on the spot. He should be an excellent salesman who was delayed by the Chinese teacher.

On the afternoon of July 25th, 20021,I listened to Professor Shen's last lecture in Henan Institute of Growth. When he introduced Selected Works of Tao Xingzhi's Education to the audience, he told two stories: First, he read it himself. After 20 years as a front-line teacher and principal in Shangqiu Quan Min Primary and Secondary School, he was admitted to the Graduate School of Beijing Normal University. When he was a graduate student, he once went to the library. He shuttled from shelf to shelf, choosing books to borrow. Suddenly, he found that a book had turned yellow and the cover had been wrapped in kraft paper by the staff. After reading it, he guessed that it must be a very good book, which has been borrowed many times, otherwise it will not be torn to pieces by readers. So I borrowed it. The more I watch it, the more addicted I am. He said: This book has had a great influence on him, so no matter where he goes to school or works, he should take it with him.

"This book is so magical? And this teacher has been a primary and secondary school teacher for 20 years. How can I be admitted to the graduate school of Beijing Normal University? Not to mention decades ago, even now, few teachers can do it. " I thought to myself.

He went on to say that because he thought the book was so good, he went home for a holiday and bought one for his wife, who is also an educator. When he got home, when he was excited to share the book with his wife, she threw it aside without reading it. After he went back to school, it was a long time. One night, at three o'clock in the morning, he suddenly heard the phone ring and sat up quickly. Because at ordinary times, the family never called him at this juncture, and he guessed that something might have happened. So I asked anxiously what had happened. As a result, his wife easily replied: nothing. After listening to his wife's answer, he immediately got angry: nothing, what call, or in the middle of the night? As a result, my wife said excitedly, I am reading Selected Works of Tao Xingzhi's Education, and its contents are worth reading.

"What kind of book can make people excited to stay up at three o'clock? The audience must be particularly curious about this book after listening to these two stories. " I thought to myself. At the same time, I also thought: "This is the teacher who can tell stories, inspire students and let them learn automatically, with hidden wisdom."

Friends, do you have the urge to buy this book at the moment? Yes, I bought it right away.

Young people are always impulsive. After I received this book, I opened the catalogue and found that it didn't appeal to me. The following is the first page of the table of contents:

This book contains articles on various aspects of education written by Mr. Tao Xingzhi from 19 13 to 1946. The content is extremely complex and extensive, with strong characteristics of education of the times, and there are many differences from the present. So the reading method I choose is: I can't read sequentially from the first page like an old cow plowing the field. Reading in this way will only make me more reluctant to study and discourage myself. When reading, you should also learn to inspire yourself and find ways to make yourself read automatically.

The foremost "Tao Xingzhi's handwriting" is a familiar sentence:

"Come with a heart, not a blade of grass."

What kind of heart is this "heart"? I want to take this question and find the answer in this book.

"Drop your sweat? Eat your own food? Do your own thing? By people, by the sky, by ancestors? Not a hero. "

How simple and domineering, if the students I have taught and the students I am teaching can be like this in the future, be prepared. All students will live a frank, chic, free and bright life in the future. And I must be such a "hero".

Finally, there is the "educational poem" in the appendix. I just looked at it for a while and found some extremely useful poems.

Ask everything

"Tens of millions of inventions, the starting point is to ask. Animals are worse than people, and they don't ask whether they are alive or not. Smart people ask smart questions, while fools ask stupid questions. Manpower is better than nature, only in everything. " [ 1]

What a simple language, what a simple truth. But how many students and teachers can do it now? Think about it, how long has it been since a student asked a teacher a question, and how long has it been since a teacher asked himself a question? ?

As a teacher, I should not only try my best to inspire students to ask questions, but more importantly, I should also ask questions for myself. For example, in view of the above content, I can ask such a question: "Why are there no problems for students? What can I do to get students to ask questions? Is there any way? " With this question, I can begin to study "Research on Problem-based Chinese Reading Teaching" and "What should teachers do if students have no problems?" "and so on. It's a pity that I never realized it.

I changed this poem a little, and I think it is suitable for any place. For example, use it on yourself:

I also remembered what Miss Dong Pei said about "how to prepare lessons". Teacher Xiao said slowly, "Teachers, if you want to prepare lessons, you should ask more questions." . What questions do you need to ask? Ask nine questions. "Some teachers should know that this is the famous Xiao Jiu Article. 1. What's the style of this article? (Stylistic features) Second, why did the author write this article? (writing intention) 3. What does this article say? (Text interpretation) 4. How is this article written? (Language Skills) 5. Which unit wrote this article? (editing intention) 6. What are the most important paragraphs and key points of this article? (teaching emphasis) 7. Why should we teach this text now? (Teaching value) 8. How do students read? What's the problem? (Pre-judgment of academic qualifications) 9. What resources does the textbook itself provide to help students learn? (teaching resources).

There are nine problems in preparing lessons, all of which have been made clear one by one, and basically won't go too far. Of course, I can also ask questions from these nine questions. For example: 1. What are the methods of text interpretation? Second, how can different teaching resources help teaching? Can we deeply explore the text interpretation methods of junior high school Chinese textbooks compiled by the Ministry, the application of reading auxiliary resources in teaching and so on?

No wonder I heard a famous teacher say this before: no problem, don't think; No thinking, no reading; Without reading, there is no learning; You can't be a famous teacher without studying hard.

Imagine what a beautiful picture this is! Spring is coming. On a sunny morning, students put down their pens and ran to nature, listening to birds, smelling flowers, singing in the wind, flying kites and climbing to the top of the mountain to fly. "Society is school" is full of textbooks, so it is no good for students to study in such natural textbooks.

And our students seldom have such learning experience.

Why is this kind of education desirable? Because this is an ideal education, or "unattainable" education. Now, no teacher dares to take his students to do this. I heard that only Mr Li Zhenxi dared to do so, but that was decades ago. Now the class teacher, who dares to take the students to do this, must be looking for trouble and "doing" it himself. All teachers are afraid of accidents. As long as something happens, no matter who is in charge, teachers can't escape. Therefore, apart from organizing schools or finding specialized research institutions, no teacher is willing to bear the pressure, panic and anxiety for a few days, take students into nature and read Spring.

The teacher didn't want to, but didn't dare. In society, most class teachers are at a disadvantage in the relationship among schools, parents, students and class teachers. In order to support their families, they can only stay out of it and turn "spring into a reading day" to make students study "how annoying". This is the sorrow of the teacher, and of course it is also the sorrow of the students.

In this context, the best way is to free up students' weekend time. On weekends, let the students watch "the treetops singing birds" or find a park to "fly kites" with their parents. Most students in junior high school don't want their parents to accompany them, and the teacher can only say so. After all, if something goes wrong, they can be irresponsible or not so responsible.

Who can change this situation? Who can let teachers and students live the educational life in this poem with peace of mind?

This poem is about teachers teaching students to find him first, understand him, liberate him, trust him and become him. In this poem, "trust" him, what I understand is "trust" him. But at first I didn't quite understand what it meant to "liberate" him. After reading it, we can understand that Mr. Tao Xingzhi wrote six aspects of liberating students in his book: heart, hands, eyes, mouth, space and time.

Here, I want to talk about the first "find him". Some students are extremely difficult to find, so they are most easily overlooked and become "invisible people" in the class. I have to reflect on myself first. Did I ignore any students? Yes, why did you ignore it? How can we not ignore it?
