National defense construction is an important part of the whole economic construction. Building a strong national defense force is the highest and fundamental interest of the country, an important guarantee for realizing China's "enriching the people and strengthening the country", and a fundamental guarantee for safeguarding national security and establishing China's international status.
Since the founding of New China, China has ended its defenseless history. Especially after the reform and opening up, the national defense forces have made great progress. However, the current international situation is not peaceful and power politics and hegemonism still exist. Western countries regard China as a potential "global rival", and neighboring countries step up military construction and take "defensive" measures against China. The military and security environment around China is very severe.
Therefore, it is suggested to further strengthen national defense construction, ensure national security and realize the real prosperity of the Chinese nation.
First, build an army with rapid response capability and strong delivery capability. In view of China's long coastline and many neighboring countries, it is necessary not only to build a strong border and coastal defense, but also to build an army with strong rapid response ability, strong delivery ability and high mobility to ensure that the country can quickly participate in the war and win when it is invaded in any direction.
Second, concentrate scientific and technological strength and focus on solving the technical problems of weapons and equipment. At present, there is a considerable gap between China's national defense science and technology, especially high technology, and countries such as the United States and Russia, and some high-tech weapons are prohibited from being sold to us. Therefore, we should concentrate our scientific and technological strength and rely on our own strength to focus on the research and production of precision guided weapons and long-range strike weapons, as well as high-tech weapons and equipment such as command and control intelligence reconnaissance systems, communications and electronic warfare, so as to improve the technical level of weapons and equipment.
Third, continuously increase investment in national defense to protect economic development. Although China's national defense investment has increased in recent years, its proportion in fiscal expenditure is on the decline, and its proportion in GDP remains at a low level of about 1.3%. The total defense expenditure is still lower than that of some major political and military powers in the world, which is inconsistent with the economic development level of China. Only by continuously increasing investment in national defense and establishing a strong modern national defense can we escort economic development and ensure that the fruits of economic development are not plundered by other countries.
Fourth, strengthen national defense education and enhance the national defense concept of the whole people. National defense is directly related to national security, national dignity and economic development. From an early age, we should do a good job in national defense education with patriotism as the main content, enhance the national defense vigilance of the military and civilians in peacetime and the ideological preparation of the whole nation to destroy the enemy under the strong pressure of the enemy, and form a good atmosphere of caring, loving, building and defending national defense in the whole society.
National defense is a survival science, that is, national defense refers to military and military-related political, diplomatic, economic and cultural construction and struggle to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity and guard against foreign aggression and subversion. National defense comes into being with the emergence of the country and serves the national interests. Churchill famously said, "We have no eternal friends or enemies, only eternal interests." This statement is correct. National defense is directly related to national security, national dignity and social development.
