Qujing, alias Cuan, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Yunnan Province. It is located in the east of Yunnan Province, bordering Xingyi City, Guizhou Province in the east, Honghe Prefecture, Wenshan Prefecture in the south, Kunming City in the west and Zhaotong City in the north. As of 202 1, the city covers an area of 28,900 square kilometers. The total land resources in Qujing City is 43.4024 million mu. Qujing has jurisdiction over 37 townships (towns and streets) in 3 districts and 5 counties, including 5 1 town, 40 townships (8 ethnic townships) and 46 streets. [1] At the end of 2022, the resident population was 5.756 million, and Qujing achieved a regional GDP of 380.220 billion yuan. Wumeng Mountain Range is located in the transition zone from the eastern Yunnan Plateau to the western Guizhou Plateau in the middle of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, and belongs to the subtropical plateau monsoon climate. Mineral resources include coal, iron, phosphorus, aluminum, lead, zinc and sulfur. Qujing won the honorary title of "National Civilized City" 202 1.
The ancient human in Qujing has entered the Paleolithic Age about 654.38 million years ago. 1970, Qujing area was renamed Qujing area, which is located in Qujing county; 1May 6, 1997, Qujing area was abolished and Qujing city was established. Places of interest include the Yanlong Monument, the ancient post road of copper merchants and so on. There are four national expressways in Shanghai-Kunming, Hangrui, Shankun and Yinkun, and three high-speed railways in Nankun, Guikun and Shanghai-Kunming run through the whole territory. Zhu Yuan has a unique culture, which is mainly composed of Erguan, Tanglang, copper merchants and ethnic customs.
