Textbooks are bound to wear out in the process of use. Therefore, one-third of the new textbooks are added every year, and the textbooks are rotated in three years.

The idea of recycling teaching materials is very good. In the compulsory education stage, the state exempts tuition and miscellaneous fees and provides teaching materials free of charge. There are a large number of students in primary and secondary schools, only one textbook, and the investment is huge. It is reported that the recycling of textbooks and teaching materials in primary and secondary schools in China can save 20 billion yuan a year, and from the perspective of environmental protection, the recycling of teaching materials is also a good thing worth promoting.

After more than ten years, how is the implementation of recycling textbooks? At the press conference of the Ministry of Education, Shen, a first-class inspector of the Teaching Materials Bureau of the Ministry of Education, responded to this matter: According to the practice in recent years, there are still several problems in the recycling of teaching materials. In my opinion, several problems mentioned by researcher Shen are typical in the use of recycled textbooks, and our school has also encountered such problems.

The benefits of recycling textbooks are obvious, and the concept is good, but the specific operation is really difficult. First of all, this work has increased the workload of teachers and schools, and the circulating teaching materials need to be placed in special places, and there should be specialized personnel for statistics, distribution and recycling.

Teachers who use circulating textbooks need to collect textbooks from the warehouse before class, after class and then send them back to the textbook warehouse. Moreover, because the textbooks in circulation are distributed in class and collected after class, students can't take them home to do their homework. Moreover, because the teaching materials should be recycled, students can't take notes on them, which is not in line with the study habits developed by students.

Secondly, the recycled teaching materials are seriously damaged after one or two years of use. Although it is supplemented by one third every year, it still cannot meet the needs of students. In particular, parents are worried about the sanitary conditions during the circulation of textbooks, especially this special situation this year. In the process of sending and receiving textbooks, they changed hands several times, and the textbooks that students got in each class were not for their own use. Can disinfection and sanitation work keep up?

Although the school will carry out disinfection work, it is difficult to be foolproof because textbooks are used so frequently and in so many quantities. Many parents said that they would rather spend their own money to buy a new set of teaching materials, which is more reassuring to use.

Another point that front-line teachers are worried about is that the recycling of teaching materials will aggravate disciplinary discrimination. Recycled textbooks do not include Chinese, mathematics and foreign languages, and are generally considered as "minor subjects". These subjects are not paid much attention to in people's minds. Now that these subjects have even been recycled, parents and students will feel that these subjects are not so important.

Although teachers and parents have something to say about circulation textbooks, there are many problems in actual operation. However, schools are still implementing relevant regulations and recycling textbooks. The education authorities have also found these practical difficulties, and believe that they will come up with reasonable and effective solutions to make this good plan implemented and achieve good results.
