The predecessor of Ningbo Foreign Affairs School is Ningbo Staff and Teachers Training Course, which was born in 1959. Subsequently, after many adjustments in the school-running mode, Ningbo Foreign Affairs School, the first foreign-related secondary vocational school in Zhejiang Province, was established in 2002 with the three strategies of "internationalization, diversification and branding" and the school-running concept of "cultivating international talents based on international vision", relying on the teaching ability of English, Japanese, German, French and Korean.

Ningbo Literature and Art School was established.
In 2006, Ningbo Literature and Art School was merged into Ningbo Foreign Affairs School and listed as Ningbo Literature and Art School independently.
