Southeast University, referred to as "Dongda" for short, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education. It is the first batch of key universities in China to build world-class universities (Class A), "985 Project" and "21Project", and was selected as "201Plan" and "6 1 Project".

Southeast University is one of the earliest institutions of higher learning in China. It is known as the holy land of institutions of higher learning and the first-class institution in Southeast China. The predecessor of Southeast University is Sanjiang Normal School, which was founded in 1902. 192 1 year, Southeast University was formally established on the basis of Nanjing Normal University advocated by Guo Bingwen, a famous educator in modern times, and became one of the only two national comprehensive universities in China at that time.

Southeast University has excellent conditions for running a school. The school has established national teaching bases, computing centers, modern analysis and testing centers, audio-visual education centers, industrial development and training centers and other teaching practice bases, and established an online distance education system with modern teaching and scientific research means. The school library covers an area of more than 30,000 square meters and has 2.27 million books.

Southeast University covers a total area of 427 hectares, with a beautiful campus environment and profound historical and cultural heritage. Built in 1930, the auditorium, the "Xiong Jian Courtyard" where Mr. Wu Jianxiong studied, the ancient and vigorous cage of the Six Dynasties pine, the "Mei 'an" built in memory of Mr. Li Ruiqing, a great calligrapher in Qing Dynasty, is an elegant and dignified old library.
